Looking to design an e-Commerce website, but I've never designed a website before.?
I have a Computer Engineering background, so I’m comfortable and ready to learn. But I’ve never designed a website before.
I’m looking for some design software that is fairly powerful, but wouldn’t take a class to learn how to use.
Basically powerful yet user-friendly. Any recommendations?

Start of simple. The first thing you should do is get yourself a book on HTML.
All web pages are built around HTML.
You can code in HTML using notepad or wordpad. However there are some programs that make it easier; Frontpage (MS OFFICE) and Dreamweaver.
There are hundreds of web pages offering "HTML Tutorials". To get an idea what HTML looks like, Open Internet Explorer and display any web page, click on View > Source and you will see the HTML code.
You can actually buid a web page for free if you can code in HTML using Wordpad.
Some ISP’s will host web pages for free.
However if you want your own private URL you will have to purchse it.
