We've heard people refer to email marketing as old-school, however email marketing budgets are being increased more and more because of the effectiveness email marketing has on recipients. Of course you have those that abuse email marketing and leave a bad impression for those who are doing it right. The most important thing for email marketing is that those using it are sending relevant content to consumers who have opted in to receiving it. Most high-end reputable email marketing companies stress this to their clients, which doesn't mean a lot to the end user necessarily, but it's becoming harder and harder for spammers to find a reputable email marketing company to partner with to deliver their messages. It's all about educating clients on how to be better email marketers so that we change the way email is perceived.
Emal marketing has also come a long way since the beginning, and now several companies are integrating with social media in order to help companies get their message out. The “share to social” idea is catching on and bringing new life to email marketing.

What do think about making experiments? Have u tried using any advanced softwares? Great advice for newbies Pat. Like you I didn’t try and get subscribers for my first 12 months. Then I got disillusioned with email marketing and deleted my opt-in form. Now I’m reinstating the opt in form with a promise of only one email per month, I shall also use your ‘no selling’ promise as well. I feel better already.

You create a 30 second show for free for some occasion, and having had a good experience, will likely come back and pay for the full featured product when a larger need arises. That hasn’t been the case with the next category of apps.
Most countries these days have laws against unsolicited email, but for business to business contact the lines are a little fuzzy. We delved into Internet marketing in the past, for pretty much the same reason as you. A contact forwarded our request to the organization that enforces anti-spam rules. A written (anonymous) complaint was put against us. We were required to proofs that we had a legitimate reason for contacting the person. I explained that the email was collected from websites of organizations and was therefore public knowledge. After an hour long phone call with this organization they pretty much had no idea whether we had actually broken the law or not. Long story short, email marketing is free but can be a headache if you send to the wrong person. The enforcing agencies have no clue where the boundaries are with business to business email.
I agree email marketing works very well, people just need to learn how to build a subscriber? list and learn how to track their email advertising. remember to take baby steps.
